It is easy to find these cars by using the internet. Locally check craigs list for used diesel cars. Search for both “diesel” and “desiel” “disel”, etc (misspellings of “diesel”).
Edmunds allows you to search (through their partnership with autotrader) for used cars by going to their used car search, putting Mercedes or Volkswagen as make, and then when the next screen comes up, clicking on the “VIEW MORE SEARCH CRITERIA” link to open the page where you can indicate “diesel” in the “fuel” area.
Once you have an idea of the type of car you want you can go to the other automotive search engines to look for these cars in your area.
